Series description

Studies in Qualitative Methodology addresses the relationship between data collection and data analysis, as well as that between theory and method and the implications of qualitative research for social policy and evaluation. The series provides a theoretical and empirical perspective on the value, potential and contribution that qualitative research methodologies bring to a variety of contexts. All papers published in Studies in Qualitative Methodology are subject to peer-review.

Studies in Qualitative Methodology is a well-established series, speaking to a range of innovative and neglected aspects of qualitative research. Recent volumes have focused upon: emotion; ethics; institutional ethnography; and 'Big Data.' The series attracts attention within and beyond academia, such as reviews in the LRB (Smith and Delamont 2019) and significant, cumulative downloads figures for individual chapters.

Emerald and the Series Editor now seek expressions of interest for future volumes. These can be thematic or within a sub-field. Interdisciplinary or proposals with a spatial theme would be particularly welcome. The volume welcomes contributions from guest editorial teams consisting of both established and ECRs.

To submit a proposal, or to express interest in editing a volume, please reach out to the Series Editor Sam Hillyard (SHillyard@lincoln.ac.uk), or the Publisher Katy Mathers (kmathers@emerald.com).
