Series description
Education Research in Global Contexts publishes cutting-edge scholarship in the field of global, international, development, cross-cultural, peace, and human rights education. Welcoming interdisciplinary work, the series connects education theory, policy and practice in the political, economic, and social contexts shaping - and shaped by - global social change.
Connected to the Global Education Colloquium, the series highlights the work of distinguished and emerging scholars on education research, policy and practice in relation to education access, equity and quality. It includes, too, contributions from renowned education leaders and practitioners to connect globally engaged research to education teaching and policymaking around the world.
Kristy Kelly is an Associate Clinical Professor at Drexel University, USA, and Past Director of the Global and International Education Program. She is simultaneously affiliated with the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University, USA. Kristy is a sociologist specializing in the politics of knowledge, sociology of gender, and organizational change. She teaches courses on gender mainstreaming policy, qualitative research methods, gender and development in Southeast Asia, political economy of education, and education diplomacy. She recently co-edited two volumes of Advances in Gender Research. Kristy is also the founder and faculty chair of the Global Education Colloquium, a monthly speaker series hosted by Drexel’s School of Education. She completed her MA and PhD at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and BA at Pennsylvania State University.
