Concise Guides to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG8) aims to 'promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.' This book begins with the historical foundation and context for SDG8, which is followed by a robust literature review that includes a discussion of poverty alleviation, education and the role of gender in meeting the objectives of SDG8. The authors then assess the policies and recommendations that have been both implemented and proposed to achieve the goal, incorporating both an economic and political science perspective. The book concludes with an evaluation of the impact of climate change on the attainment of SDG8.

Concise Guides to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals comprises 17 short books, each examining one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The series provides an integrated assessment of the SDGs from economic, legal, social, environmental and cultural perspectives.
