Entrepreneurship is an empowering activity that has changed the lives of people around the world. This book is the first to look at the way entrepreneurship empowers people through knowledge spillovers and entrepreneurial ecosystems. As the world has become more global ideas generated in one region spill over to other regions on a frequent basis. This has made knowledge the key strategic driver for many entrepreneurs and used as a competitive advantage. Knowledge spillovers occur when ideas flow to other entities on an unplanned and sporadic basis. As knowledge is power in today’s global society, regions are focusing on how to harness the potential of this knowledge. To do this an ecosystem perspective has been used as a way to understand the interlinkages entrepreneurs have with others in society. This includes government entities, businesses and the community. This book includes a number of chapters written by international authorities on the topic of entrepreneurship through a knowledge spillover and entrepreneurial ecosystem perspective. Thereby, providing an innovative and cutting edge view on the role entrepreneurship plays in society.
